A 5-Part Workshop Series

Unleash your inner angler! This workshop series is designed to elevate your fly casting skills from beginner to expert. This is the most detailed and comprehensive fly fishing program in Canada! 

You'll gain the knowledge and confidence to cast with precision and finesse, setting you up for success on your SUP fly fishing adventures. Plus, you'll gain 9-14 hours of training plus a fish-out.

This program is specifically crafted for participants who have attended an Echo Demo Day Clinic. Our Echo Demo Day Clinic or a clinic run by one of the local shops.

      Prerequisites:

    • This program is specifically crafted for participants of an Echo Day Clinic and are serous about learning to fish.

    • Registration is necessary and a Pre requisite of some hosted on water venues.

      What to Expect:

    • Module 1: Introduction to basic casting techniques, including the fundamentals of roll casting, line setup, and management.

    • Module 2: Focus on advanced casting methods and line retrieval techniques. Learn essential knots, proper leader setups, and effective hook-setting strategies.

    • Module 3: Enhance your skills with more practice, incorporating advanced water techniques and swinging methods. Cover various SUP stances and basics of fly casting from your board (primarily on dry land).

    • Module 4: Learning the double haul casting technique. Beach Casting Methods and Techniques.

    • Module 5: Dive into advanced casting strategies, including selecting the right flies and understanding where to use them. We’ll also discuss essential gear for your SUP fishing adventures and prepare you for the upcoming salmon season and the Walk and Wade Clinics.
      This program is specifically crafted for participants of our Echo Day Clinic.

      What to Bring:

    • Your fly fishing gear, or reserve rental gear if you are dropping in for a single Module.

    • Comfortable clothing suitable for outdoor activities.

    • Sunscreen, hat, and sunglasses. Dress for the weather.

    • Notepad and pen (optional, for taking notes).

      Important Notes:

    • Completion of all five modules is mandatory for those wishing to join our local SUP fly fishing trips. Including fishing in Granite Falls, Squamish Valley, Lytton, and the Kamloops area and Region 2 destinations.

    • Modules will occur every second Tuesday of the month and then repeat. So if you miss one you can catch it the next time it repeats.

    • Regular casting practice sessions will be held one hour before each Taco Tuesday meetup through the end of August.

      Trip Details:

    • Duration: Sessions run anywhere from 1.5-2.5 hours. Start time 6pm, and will be adjusted based on available light

    • Locations: Various locations throughout Vancouver, with on-water practice included.

    • Fly Rod Rentals: Available for $20 per session.
