Prior experience in flatwater SUP is essential.
Strong paddling skills and the ability to independently get back on your board are required.
DAY 1
Meet at Grant Narrows Park early morning, 7:30 am.
Pack and prepare your gear for the overnight paddle.
Learn about planning and safety considerations for paddling on a tidal lake.
Paddle to the campsite, enjoying the scenery and wildlife along the way.
Set up camp and enjoy a campfire dinner.
DAY 2
Wake up after a well deserved relaxing night sleep
Pack up camp and explore other areas of the lake.
Essential Gear: PFD, whistle, appropriate leash, and 6 liters of water.
Clothing: Dress for potential immersion in cold water and variable weather conditions. Water shoes, neoprene bottoms, or dry shorts are recommended for on the board. Layers are essential! Warm cozy clothing for camp and sleeping.
Gear: Waterproof backpack or dry bag for your overnight gear, including a tent, sleeping bag, sleeping pad, headlamp, kitchen, and personal items.
SUP & Safety Equipment: Bring your own touring-style or similar SUP, paddle, and all necessary safety equipment. Rental equipment is available if needed.
This is a beginner-friendly overnight trip.
The campsite is accessible only by water.
Much of the beach floods at high tide and at all tides during spring runoff when the lake level is higher.
Developed campground with pit toilets. Water is available at a nearby creek.
Food caches are provided.
Campfires are permitted.
Dates: April 26th and 27th
Departure: Meet at 7:30am, April 26th at Grant Narrows Park.
Distance: The campsite is approx. 8-10 km each way.
