"Beach Fishing Adventure"
Discover the thrill of salmon fishing at the Capilano River, conveniently located near downtown Vancouver. From mid to late May, you'll have the chance to catch unique coho salmon, followed by pink salmon from July through September. This spot transforms into a local favorite during the summer and fall seasons, providing a peaceful yet bustling atmosphere as the salmon migrate.

Participation in any 3-5 complimentary casting practice sessions offered throughout the season is required.

While we recommend our module casting training, it is not mandatory. The beach also offers an excellent opportunity for DIY fly fishing.

Waders and Boots: Strongly advised.

Can be accessed by sup during weekday tides . We don’t recommend sup fishing here on the weekends due to excessive boat traffic and a large presence of anglers.

Cates Park is likely the most accessible spot for catching pink salmon from the shore or while stand-up paddleboarding. If you plan your visit wisely, you could enjoy an exciting day of fishing. Many novice anglers tend to overlook this gem due to its bustling atmosphere filled with picnics, crabbing, and paddling opportunities. Here, we offer graduates a complimentary tour of the prime locations for casting their lines in search of local salmon.

Sea to Sky Highway: Howe Sound Landing
Howe Sound Landing (We have renamed this popular area but experienced anglers know is hidden gem name) is undoubtedly one of the most stunning locations for fly fishing along the Sea to Sky Highway. This unique spot is renowned for its diverse salmon population, making it the only place where anglers can successfully catch several species of salmon. Sea-run trout also frequent this area, alongside coho, pink, and chinook salmon!
Here, you'll realize the importance of our casting modules for effectively casting your lines in this picturesque coastal region. Due to the challenging nature of the fishing here, we strongly encourage you to take advantage of our complimentary casting practices, which are offered throughout the summer.
Additionally, this area is accessible for stand-up paddleboarding (SUP) fishing, though you'll need SUP wheels to navigate a short walkway to the beach. We highly recommend SUP fishing here, especially during busy weekends when the salmon run is in full swing!
